Events
MG Manawatu holds events right through out the year. Our aim is to provide you with a mix of events to suit all MG vehicles, of varying distances and driving times to suit all preferences. From this it should be possible for everyone to be actively involved in runs depending on whether you favour shorter drives or much longer expeditions in your MG.
Whatever the event - there is always a strong focus on socialising as part of the day out. Some styles of events include:
These are just a few examples of what to expect, but the big thing is to have fun and enjoy being part of 'the marque of friendship'.
Events are all organised on a voluntary basis and many take considerable planning. If you have an idea for a destination for a run or you'd like to help organising an event your participation would be widely welcomed!

- Short scenic drives, perhaps with a picnic or cafe style lunch stop
- Drives to special events such as air shows, museums, fairs etc...
- Full day longer drives similar to the above
- Car shows - taking part in local car shows to share our enthusiasm for MG and to further promote the marque
- Overnight touring runs - the Manawatu group is well known for running 2 or 3 day touring events across the North Island and even the South Island!
- Dinners - usually during the winter and at Christmas
- Motor racing / speed events - our association with the MGCC Wellington Centre provides MGCC members access to this style of event along with others such as trials or national rallies etc...

Whatever the event, it is a condition of participation that your car has all current legal requirements and is in full roadworthy condition, the NZ road code is adhered to and you agree that your participation is entirely at your own risk.
At a minimum, you must also have at least third party insurance cover. |
