Welcome to the online home of MG Manawatu. Please do take your time to have a look around the site and feel free to get in touch or comment for any reason by using the contact or blog page.

MG Manawatu is a group of British sports car enthusiasts based in Palmerston North, New Zealand. The group has existed since the early 1990's and has consistently enjoyed a healthy membership of around 50 vehicles. The majority of our members are MG owners but we also welcome participation from other British sporting marques.

We have an interesting and varied array of vehicles that join us on outings that span MG from the 1930's into the early 2000's including M Type, T Type, Magnette, Midget, MGA, MGB, MGC, RV8, MGF and MGTF.

As a car club, the focus is very much on enjoying the pleasure of driving and the Manawatu and Rangitikei regions are blessed with an abundance of traffic free, sealed, scenic roads and interesting destinations. We also have a specialist car club events centre based in Mangaweka - more information on the 'MGM' tab above. Along with enjoying a good drive there is also a very strong social aspect with plenty of time on our events to catch up with everyone over a coffee or a meal, particularly our overnight events.

MG Manawatu is associated with the MG Car Club Wellington Centre Inc. as a number of our members have dual membership with both Manawatu and Wellington as well as some members belonging to the MGCC in Abingdon and the MGOC at Swavesey in England. This allows them to fully gain the maximum enjoyment and benefits that are available from the wider MG national and international scene. More details can be found on the membership tab.

MG - well known throughout the world as 'the marque of friendship' and that is our core value also. We hope you enjoy this website and if you have an MG or other British sports car we would love to hear from you!
